    Reducing distress and saving lives by: providing trusted, effective, interactive and professional 24/7 helplines collaborating with others to provide accessible and effective crisis service having supervised and compassionate volunteers making a positive contribution to the health and social service sector. 

    Our mission is to reduce distress and save lives by providing safe, accessible, effective, professional and innovative services. We work specifically to increase awareness and understanding of suicide prevention in New Zealand, reduce the associated stigma, and work with others to contribute positively to the health and social sector.

    We receive over 7,000 calls per month and 20,000 texts from people of all ages and ethnicities who are struggling with a wide range of issues including relationship and work problems, mental health, grief, abuse, bullying and loneliness. We help an average of 15-20 people a day at high risk of suicide.

Lifeline Aotearoa has been helping New Zealanders in distress and crisis for 60 years.

Our free community helplines, 0800 LIFELINE and Suicide Crisis Helpline 0508 TAUTOKO, and our text support service HELP (4357) are answered by our highly trained team from centres in Auckland and Christchurch. We also provide corporate training through our Lifeline Connect service.

Our mission is to reduce distress and save lives by providing safe, accessible, effective, professional and innovative services. We receive between 7,000 and 8,000 calls per month and 20,000 texts from people of all ages and ethnicities who are struggling with a wide range of issues including relationship and work problems, mental health, grief, abuse, bullying and loneliness. We help an average of 15-20 people a day at high risk of suicide.

Calls to our helplines are free, confidential and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We receive no government funding for these helplines and rely on public donations.

Lifeline is part of Presbyterian Support Northern, a not for profit, social services organisation.

    We’re committed to providing a safe, effective and confidential service to support the emotional and mental well-being of our callers and communities.

    Calls and text messages are answered by highly trained staff and volunteers.

    Volunteer counsellors undergo in-depth training and supervision, providing a caring and professional service to a wide range of people in need. They deal with many kinds of issues including emotional and psychological distress, anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, domestic violence and abuse, work and financial issues and a myriad of others in the course of a year.

    A free, nationwide service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    TAUTOKO is operated by trained and experienced social service practitioners who have undergone suicide prevention training.

    Warmline Auckland is a peer support helpline for people who use Te Whatu Ora | Te Toka Tumai Auckland Mental Health Services.

    Covering the central Auckland area, the service offers:

    • Confidential peer support from someone who has been in a similar situation

    • A listening ear

    • Someone to talk to

    • Support when you’re feeling overwhelmed by a bad day

    • Helpful tips for helping yourself

    • Help with discussion on a decision, no matter how large or small

    • Referral to other community organisations and mental health services.

    Warmline is available from 5–11pm seven days a week.

    Lifeline Connect offers comprehensive educational training and support services tailored for corporate environments.

    Our training programmes are designed to equip employees, team leaders, and community professionals with the skills to enhance their own wellbeing and confidently support colleagues in distress or crisis.
